I could see it having one of 3 intents. #1 - we don't want you playing Rec


because you up your chances of getting hurt, taking you away from our middle school team. IE, why many pro sport contracts prohibit the athlete from playing pickup basketball, for example. So a somewhat selfish reason for the school coaches.

#2 might be "Rec coaches don't coach you right, so we don't want to have to uncoach you." Along with "that coaching may endanger you."

#3 could be a genuine safety rule. IE, You shouldn't be playing so much tackle football. We don't want you getting subjected to those hits twice a week.
